radio interferance/ tv distortion

I installed one of those digital tv ,cd, radio players in my car .When im parked up with the engine off i can watch tv and listen to the radio with no interference but when i start the engine up the tv picture distorts and the radio signal weakens .

Any ideas ?

It is installed in a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 2

Will need suppressors on everything on something that old i would think! Alternator, dizzy, coil would be the first ones to look at
