Rainwater from bathroom gulley coming out of 2 pipes into manhole

I recently had my toilet pipe relined as there was a crack where it enters the external wall. I'm in a bungalow so there is a gulley that the bath, washbasin and rainwater pipe go into and that pipe and the toilet pipe then go into the manhole. I was told the gulley didn't need checking with CCTV as there was no connection between the two pipes but when it rained yesterday I lifted the manhole and there was rainwater coming from both pipes. Can anyone explain why this is happening if there's no connection please and do I need to get the drainage engineer back to carry out further investigation? Thanks so much in advance.

I'd be getting a second opinion. Unfortunately, I suspect if you get the original Contractor back, they'll either say there's nothing wrong, or they'll suddenly claim further work is needed, which will no doubt be expensive... Sadly there are too many Cowboys and Con merchants in the Drainage game, and I very much doubt they'll admit work they've already done wasn't done correctly!

If the WC and Gully are on separate pipes going to the chamber, then clearly there shouldn't be any opportunity for water to cross between them, and if it's allegedly been patched or lined to repair a damaged section, then even less reason for it to leak!
