Hello,
Hope you can help! The property next to us was a B2 industrial workshop and very very old. The back of it is our boundary wall some of which extends onto our front drive.
For a whole year now this has had works going on to change it to residential use and one of the last things they did was restore the guttering and add a downpipe which discharges rainwater onto our land. At first it failed building regs after an inspection but now they're saying that it's ok because there was already a gutter there even though the downpipe had broken off.
Surely it is still illegal to do this especially with the change of use to residential. Can anyone advise me on this pleae?

Why would the change of use make it(discharge of rainwater) illegal?

Neighbour disputes have to be disclosed when selling a property which may cause a problem should you decide to sell.

You may wish to rethink your approach and keep it civil before taking the legalities route.
