Hi,

we had a single story extension built a few years ago and have noticed over the last few months that rainwater draining off the pitched roof is missing the end of the attached gutter and instead, running down the side of the original house. I’m concerned that damp will develop overtime and wondered how to fix it. I’ve tried pushing the guttering hard up against the original house to close the gap but that doesn’t seem to have resolved it.
you can see a little algae that is starting to form on the brick work where the rain is running down (see photos).
Cheers

Get a bit of lead, bend it to a nice 90 degree angle, tuck it behind the flashing and under the soaker (that should be under the 3 layers of mock slate at that edge) then bend the projecting vertical corner so it directs water into the gutter.
EDIT Which way is that gutter flowing, is there a load of crud in it causing it to fill and overtop?

If you cant easily get any lead then a coke can will do, be careful when gutting it as it will have sharp edges.
