hi bit of advice im putting in a raised deck, it will be approx 6m wide from house and 10m long. The height above ground at house is about 250mm, because the garden slopes at outer end 1400mm. As less than 300mm at house do i need planning? We dont really want a balustrade, could we put a raised flower bed in front, so deck drops 250mm to flower bed that provides safety if so would there be a minimum width acceptable? If not could we put steps the whole length of the decking and would we need balustrade at each end? any advice welcome.

The 300 mm is measured from the highest point of the slope so you should be ok, provided you don’t breach the 50 per cent rule.
