Hi,
At present our kitchen leads into a lean-to which has a tiled floor.
Our kitchen has laminate tile effect flooring and is around 3 inches above the lean-to floor.

My question is whether I can raise the level of the floor to the same height as the kitchen floor?

my plan is to lay joists down on top of the tiles, board on top, insulation and then the laminate??

does this sound reasonable?, any advice appreciated, hopefully pictures will help to explain what i mean.

thanks

50mm insulating board down first then the laminate straight on top.. it's a floating floor, not fixed down so it should be ok i think..

or if you need to make up an uneven bit, or an odd size that the insulation board doesn't come in, you could probably screed it to a suitable depth..
but then again I'm an electrician, what would I know about floors?
