Hi. I have a detached double garage with an attic supported by a fink type truss.
I'd like to raise the bottom beam of the truss by a couple of feet ( to allow a full golf swing ! ),
Currently it's about 2.30m from the floor and another 2.6m to apex of garage which is about 6m wide.
Presume I'd use adequate size bolts across each V diagonal support.
How much should I be concerned that there will some outward strain to the single brick walls ? Is it the best way to simply raise the beam ?
If not the whole truss, just doing a couple in the middle giving me about 6ft area may be safest.
