RAM Modules Problem

Hi All

I have two RAM modules. Both are 256MB PC133 168pins. So why is it that one will work in my PC and the other does not. I have tested both (individually) in another PC and both are fine, so why does only one work in mine?

When I put the one in that does not work in mine the PC will not even show the POST/BIOS screen at boot.

Is there another spec about RAM modules that I am missing as the two modules are different makes?

When you try them individually in your pc, do you try them in the same slot?

The module that works, works in either slot it is placed in. The module that does not work, does not work in either???

Do you have an E-Machine pc? .. if so this is your problem, contact pc world who will match up the correct ram for you.

If not, then for some reason it differs to your original ram in some way or another, contact your pc manufacturer who should be willing to give you an exact match no matter how old your pc is.
