I live in a 4-bedroom detached house in that had a Range Powermax 155x boiler fitted when the house was built (brand new) in 2002.

Since then we have always enjoyed good central heating and piping hot water (for showers and baths) at any time of the year.

However, over the last month or two we have noticed that when having a shower, the water either starts of lukewarm and doesn't get any better (sometimes it goes quite cold) or it starts of with nice hot water, but quickly (within a couple of minutes or so) starts running lukewarm.

The central heating seems to be working fine while this is happening. We have the unit set for constant hot water and the central heating is on the 'all day' setting.

I have noticed that the problems with the shower water temperature seem to occur even if the burner light is on on the unit.

It is also impossible to run a decent hot bath, as the hot water just runs out too quickly.

Any ideas relating to this problem will be much appreciated.

Blending valve usually, check the temp of the water on the hw inlet side of it.

Yep, definitely the blender valve (Part No. P757). needs replacing, it will be scaled up inside.
