Ongoing issue with this POS!

It (off peak) stopped heating water so a plumber came out, changed stat. I noticed at time it stopped working, a drop of water round both top and bottom immersions. It then worked for one night then nothing again. Again i daw water at both immersions. I saw that reset had popped out on stat so pushed back in but did not heat up over night and reset did not pop back out.

Plumber came back and changed the immersion, this did nothing.

I only see the water at immersions after a night of it heating?

Another plumber has now come out and said no power at the boiler coming from the off peak supply. He tested this at 6pm. After he left I thought well no there wouldn't be as that feed isn't on until after midnight?

Anyone experienced similar. I'm no expert, only thing I can think is the top immersion leaked water on to bottom one, it tripped reset and blew stat? The replaced stat worked then and the water leaked again and the same happened. Changing immersion did nothing as its the stat that has blown?

Tigthen or pure top immersion, change stat again on bottom one as a potential fix?

Any other diagnostics that could be done?

Thanks

Any photos available? It depends on the tariff and setup as to when it comes on off peak, it used to be 7pm, hence called economy 7.

It is economy 7 but that means 7 hours not 7pm. Its midnight until 7 or 1am until 8am depending on time of year.

Nothing obvious there, but something to try, on the consumer units , drop the breaker for the immersions to the off position and then back on, this sometimes works

Thanks, will give this a go.

In my original post would the water leak theory be a possibility of wrecking the new stat that got put on?

It is possible but would be unusual , usually a breaker would trip first , they are very sensitive

Hmmm, strange. Tried doing the breakers off and back on, still nothing...
