Have got a built in rangemaster single electric oven that seems to have stopped working. The fan is just blowing cool air so no heat. Any ideas as to the probable fault, expensive swap out ? Thanks

Probably a blown element, but could also be the control switch or something. As yours is a fan oven it probably has a circular element seated around the fan (the element heats the air and the fan blows it around). Often you can see the fault/broken bit on an element just by looking closely. Google "broken element pictures" to see what I mean. You can do a simple continuity test on the element, but this is better done with the wiring disconnected from it.

It's not normally rocket science to replace one if you're good with your hands, and sometimes you can do it from inside the oven compartment. Personally I've never been that lucky and it's involved removing the whole oven and replacing it from the rear. Elements aren't expensive, maybe somewhere between £7 to £20?
