Rangemaster Toledo Cooker

The igniter on the grill has stopped sparking. The cooker is approx 3 years old and all the other igniters spark ok.

Had a quick look at the electrode and it appears to be secured by a small phillip head screw. Tried to remove the screw but the screw appears well stuck. Do not want to wreck the the screw head so have left it alone.

Can light the grill using other means but wonder if this is a common fault and/or an easy fix.

Have you cleaned the electrode on the grill thoroughly( brush with a stiff tooth brush) to ensure that it is not shorting between the electrode & the insulator & is it possible to swop the leads about on the power supply to prove whether it is the grill ignitor or the output from the power supply that is faulty.

I have managed to remove the small screw holding the electrode. Had to use a mirror on stick and a torch to get a view into the back of the grill.

Not much room for an arm/hand etc.

A small pair of mole grips got the screw loose and the electrode insulator was removed and found to have a broken ceramic covering.

New one ordered from Rangemaster ( £10.00 including postage).

Thanks for reply.
