hi the problem with the boiler is when i run the bath taps the water does not get hot, this does not happen when i run the taps on the sinks in the house, heatin seems fine, plz could u help? thx

Reduce the flow rate out of the bath tap to about 9 litres/min.

Your drawing too much water through the boiler and it isnt able to heat it.

Alternativley check none of the rads begin to warm when the bath tap is being run.

hi rob slowed flow by not opening tap fully boiler fires up water runs hot then goes cold then boiler goes off???? sink taps ok. any clue?? thx

Exactly the same symptoms as my boiler this weekend
BG diagnoses it as faulty divertor valve or heat exchanger.
Replaced divertor valve - no change. Told me heat exchanger was unavailable.
Charge me £210. B*stard!
I hope you have better luck.

If they failed to correctly diagnose or fix the problem I dont think they should have charged you. Ask for your money back!

If you lived in our area we would have sorted it out and only charged you £136 !

We chemically clean the heat exchangers so its not only cheaper but it does not matter if they were not available. In any case I would be very surprised if we could not source one!

i am a bit confused with the problem your having with the ravenheat 100e you say its ok when its on the sink tap ??? and does it shut down then ???? what type of bath taps have you got are they combined bath and shower taps??? and are the sink taps that its working ok on a mixer because the sink taps are normally a biflo unit meaning that the water never mixes in the base of the tap on the bath taps the water mixes in the base and if both taps are opened the cold side can force the hot water back up the pipe and so close the boiler down unless a non -return valve was fitted to the hot side and that is stuck open its just a thought
