I have a RavenHeat boiler which is giving me some grief. The central heating doesn't come on when i press the switch to on or auto. The pressure is ok , but it wont strike up. Any help is appreciated. I have looked at the manual and i am inclined to think the control unit has packed up. The light come son but nothing happens. I think this boiler is absolute rubbish and i'm thinking of replacing it. Thanks.

Have you got a multimeter?
If so remove leads and check continuity across pins 5 and 3

I can't do that till tomorrow, what will that tell me? According to the manual , i may be looking at a new control board or ignition board, at the minimum a fuse or something.
Pins 3 5 are for the control clock, checking the clock through control and back to fuse.
I dont bother with a manual for them, though the fault will be listed the clock fails along with the rest of the carp that fails

I'm inclined to agree , this boiler is crap , to be honest i never put it in , it has to be one of the worst on the market.
The clock is working though. I just think this is gonna cost me to sort it.

Unless I get some serious a*** licking from Vaillant I may be on the look out for another manufacturer Well at least a couple of meals and free booze ups to extreme levels with the next day off
