Ravenheat Boiler DHW Potentiometer

Ravenheat CSI 85 Condensing Combi - Domestic Hot Water Potentiometer electric connection has broken off due to corrosion caused by mild leak, is it ok to run boiler normally and would an external clamp type replacement be suitable. It could be difficult to remove part due to corrosion.

I think you have your terminology wrong.
The potentiometer is behind the control knob and connects to the PCB.
Really difficult for it to corrode and they rarely go wrong.
It does make sense if you are talking about the thermistor, in which case you probably need a new one
