Hi

I have a ravenheat ls100t 3.5 years old that when any hot tap is turned on will fire then go out wait about five to eight seconds whilst ticking and then fire again. It will then go out then fire up again! it can stay on after going out once though.
fault finding manual points to hw pot. Pot controls ok so not sure? manual asks about gas presure but thats something I cannot do.

any ideas anyone? if more info is needed ask away!
:?
cheers

How long it stays on for is a critical factor in attempting to guess what the problem is.

It could be a flame ignition or detection failure or an overheating problem.

As indicated in your manual its likely to need a competent CORGi engineer to examine the boiler to diagnose the fault on site.

This would be typical of the CH thermistor being on its way apart from one thing and that is the
whilst ticking
I am assuming here that it is the spark you can hear and the boiler is trying to relight. This does point as Tony says towards a flame sensing problem for starters.
On these boilers money spent on thermistors is never money wasted. They go wrong sooner rather than later anyway. When you change them bin the CH one and keep the HW one as a spare. You then have a level playing field to use logic for any other problems.

was the ch sensor, got one for 13quid and thru it in. service restored. thanks for the help.

No one can get every one right every time. However I expect that it was overheating as I suggested as a result of a faulty sensor.
