Just had a look at my mothers boiler as she cannot get any hot water.
Heating turned off & when demand for hot water the boiler will not fire as the plunger on the 3 way valve is not moving to contact the microswitch. If i press the microswitch with a screwdriver the boiler fires but the CH pipes get hot.

I am only able to get hot (ish) water if the heating is running.

Divertor valve u\s you think? Just about to order one but thought i would check here first.

The divertor was renewed under warranty in 2006.

Thanks for any input.

Yes, new divertor fixed it.

Price at local c/h suppliers ranged from £135 +vat to a whopping £175 + vat!!

Got one from a supplier on ebay for £60.50 which included delivery. Huge difference.

All i need to do now is to go to my AE dept to get me joints put back to normal  What a stupid place to mount a divertor valve!

If i ever do another one i will make a point of buying a few crows feet.

Thanks again Agile. ;)
