Hi again could somone please give me an idiots guide to rcd testing on a light ctc . I can only assume that with skt outlets the plug on my megger unstables the current do to causing an eatrh leakage ,Do you use the three probe leads on a light and what is the process of two or three way switching.

RCDs are tested at the consumer unit. Preferably with the circuit wiring disconnected from them.

You may also get away with using 2 wires with the Megger (Phase and earth), I know the MFT1552 I have works OK, I need the 3 wires for no-trip EFLI. Have a read of the destruction manual.

Megger RCD320T also does 2-lead RCD testing... next he'll be telling us that there is no thing as a 2-wire no trip loop test

Unfortunately the Megger MFTs do require all 3 leads for no-trip EFLI testing
My old Megger RCD/EFLI tester could do 2 lead no trip ELFI testing.
