If an RCD was not tripping fast enough when 5 times the current rating for supplimentary protection what could be the problem? Or is it a case of change the RCD???
Never heard of a type C RCD, do you mean RCBO?
type AC is a general AC type RCD,
type A RCD is an AC type RCD which will also protect against pulsating DC earth fault current components,
type B RCD provides protection against DC earth fault currents.
type S RCD (Selective) is a time delay type.
but as you have posted several times re Megger CBT-3 you are possibly talking about something else completely different related only to that particular tester.
