Hi

I have a problem with the main RCD (before CU) tripping due to a fault in only one circuit - 2 x fluorescent light circuit. All other circuits are ok.
RCD trips when lights are switched off. I thought I had located the fault within the ceiling rose for one of the lights and made good all connections which solved the problem for a while (1 day), but since then it has started again.

Any ideas as to where the problem may be?
Are fluorescent lights prone to this, when there is maybe a problem within the light fitting?

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

How about isolating the suspect fitting and see if tripping continues?

If not, replace fitting.

Thanks for that. 2 lights, so I will isolate each in turn and take it from there. If it stays with one of the lights it will be a new fitting as you said.

If there's still a problem with either one I will check connections at CU, thanks again.
