Hi there
A friend recently helped me lift a floorboard in our victorian house (we already lifted one floorboard next to). He suggested we just cut along the joist with a saw.
Obviously we now couldn't screw the floorboard to the joist but he suggested we could just fix a piece of wood to the joist and lay the floorboard on top (when we were done).
I am slightly in two minds whether this method will be ok and strong enough to hold the floorboard.
Seems to me it would have been better to cut the floorboard in the middle of the joist.
Any thoughts on this?
Many thanks
