Just finished capping over my Facia's on the front and back of the house. Still have around the rear extension to do at some later date. The house is a 30 year old Timber framed house with Marley interlocking concrete tiles fitted over under sarking felt. The whole roof has OSB fitted over the rafters. I noticed before I started ripping the old gutters off that the felt did not hang into the Gutter (About 1/2 inch short) and in a few sections had become pretty tattered where it comes out under the tiles. However, the top section of wood facia behind the gutter that had never been painted was dry and still sound, so it seems the tiles are doing a good enough job with no water getting behind them. I carried on with the cap over making sure I got the capping tucked under what felt was showing. I tried slipping some DPC under the old felt but it was impossible to get the tiles and old felt lifted enough to get sections of DPC slipped under.
I would like at some point in the future to get an overhang into the gutter which I guess would mean removing the bottom 2 runs of Tiles. I would probably use 5u eaves felt to get the drip into the gutter. My question is
I live in a high wind area ( Scottish Isles ) and all courses of tiles are nailed. If I remove bottom 2 rows is there any way ( Trick of the trade ) of getting both rows re-nailed again or can I only get one row nailed.
    Any advice would be appreciated

Nail one and clip the other.

    Hello Makie
Can you expand a bit further . Do you mean nail one row and clip the next ??. What type of clips and do they have to be tile type specific ??

Nail the bottom row and then clip the second row.

What type of tile is it? Profile wise, can you take a picture?

Don't they knock into the side of the tile supporting Batten ?

They hook over the channel then nail down from the top.

Bit Confused now with "nail down from the top " Don't they clip onto the side channel of the Tile and knock into the 25mm face of the 50 x 25 Batten underneath the tile

Yes they nail into the top edge (25mm section )of the batten , be it 25x50 or 25 x 38
You can end up with a nailed first course and a bottom of the second course clipped with solo .
The top of the second course and bottom of third will not be secured.
