Re-pointing

I've trawled through the searches but cannot find a definitive answer.

Hope you can help.

With all the advances in modern technology, is there anything else one can use to re-point brickwork other than mortar mix??

Not that I'm aware of, but there are various mortar injection systems that claim to make it quicker - in the same way as a mastic gun - e.g. http://www.pointmaster.co.uk/
