EF5 is a blocked filter but the blank screen leads me to think you don't often use the dryer if at all and now the dryer heating element is low test which cause's all kinds of gremlins on this range and stop's the wash side from working (granted this would normally generate a fault code of ED4 but not all the time) so try disconnecting the dryer element to see if normal service on the wash side resume's.
Yeah your right we do hardly ever use the dryer. How do I disconnect the dryer element? If I was to get this repaired how much would I be looking to pay? Just trying to weigh up if worth getting a repair or buying a new product.
You have to take the top off and disconnect the four wires at the top at the back from the dryer element housing. I wouldn't go to the exspence of replacing the entire machine .
