Re-wiring : Alarm, phone, etc suggestions

Hi Guys,

I am getting my house re-wired. While at it I am also thinking of getting :-

1. A wired alarm fixed
2. Cat5 cabling

Can you please suggest a good alarm system, I mean a reliable one and easy to maintain.

The guy who is doing my electircs says, he can do the alarm as well. Is this wise or shall i get proper alarm guys to come and install it ?
