Reading .SWF files

What with?
I got an error message saying download Irfanview, so I did, only telling it to open .swf files/
But I get a "FLASH.DLL" er, not correct, or not found or corrupt - will look again and edit - message.
Find no FLASH.DLL on my pc.
As with the .XML query, I seem to have some issues with dlls etc. Is there a general cure?


XP, all updates installed. (allegedly) Office xp/Word 2002

The swf files Irfanview tries to read is a proprietary image format - not the flash swf files. Are you trying to just view a webpage with an embedded flash file or are you trying to view a downloaded swf file?

This should clear up both things:
1) Uninstall irfanview (unless you use it elsewhere).
2) Install Adobe flash from here http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
