I'm knocking out my rear wall for my extension I've been told to use 2 x 203x133UB30s steels with 152x98UB16 C section welded to one and bolted to the other this bit fine what they want and im not shore of is this bit
2 203 x133UB 30 with 152x89 DIAPHTAMS AT 900MM CENTRES
THE BEAMS ARE 4700 LONG is the 152x89UB16 also 4700 long or do I use 5 x 395 long 152x89UB 16 welded at 900mm centres? Which would give a gap of 681mm between them
please can someone help

By the sound of it, the C sections are cut into the smaller pieces.

You should ask your engineer for a drawing or clarification. I can't understand why there would be a 681 gap between the beams for a house knock-through

Is all that fuss just for beam spacers or am i missing something?

Perhaps he has just come out of uni and is trying to impress.
