Rear seat noise 06 1 series 118d

I've an intermittent rattle buzzing noise coming from the middle of the rear seat. Very annoying and eventually figured out when I sit in the middle of the back seat it disappears. Only happens at low revs but when moving engine noise could drown it out. Am I right in the gear box is under hear..? I'm hoping this isn't causing it..? Anyone had similar issues?

if you sit on the seat it would suggest that something below/behind it is buzzing, a mechanical noise would not be silenced.

I once had a noise from a rear seat which turned out to be the seatbelt buckle, which was underneath it.

Turns out the fuel tank had become loose and was banging off something.
The brackets where tight and a gap was between them and the tank. assume rubber had fallen off so just put some pvc in and noise has gone. This has to be unusual.

Any ideas what would have caused it.

The link is for the petrol fuel tank on the 118i, so it might be slightly different?
