Reasonable to expect rad valve spindle leaks to be fixed after a MagnaCleanse flush?

I'm told radiator valve spindle leaks aren't the hardest to fix and pros seem able to do them without a drain down.

Our system just had a Magna Cleanse flush and we've found a few valves have minor leaks. Our (lack of) skills and tools means we won't risk a DIY fix.

The engineer is due back this week.
Is it unreasonable to request he sort these as a semi-expected part of the flush procedure? (Disappointing he didn't go round and check them before hurriedly leaving tbh.)

Sorry but absolutely not.

Whilst it would have been smart for the trade to have pointed out that the flush could expose some old and possible leaky valves/couplers etc as that wouldn't have been unexpected especially with an older system, it don't think it would be reasonable to considered them to run around fixing any leaks that then may become apparent be it valve glands/fittings et all.

Should the systems have been checked once the flush was complete, I would and then any leaks discussed with you

Some gland repairs can be easy (loosened, a little lubrication, nipped back up) but other aren't so much and sometime the only repair is to replace the valve. Whilst using PTFE tape/cord can stop a gland leaking I only consider it to be a temporary repair as the gland can start to leak again after a while.
