Hi all

I'm trying to repair an oven door for the Hotpoint EG900X S oven. The inner most glass pane (p/n J00123623 i.e. closest to the oven itself, had shattered). It was in pieces, and inner seals had fallen out, so I don’t know how it goes back together. I ordered a new inner glass pane and a new Inner glass joint seal (J00213478) (I don’t think it even appears in the parts drawing), and the adhesive Gasket (J00238385) (think this is part no. 2). That Hotpoint diagram isn't great. There are 3 panes of glass in the door, and yet it only shows two. Can’t speak to a proper engineer. Customer service refuse to put me through and are of no help.
I am wondering if part no. 20 in the diagram contains the glass within it, and possibly comes with the glass joint seal. Bit late now, as I ordered parts seperately

So far I did as follows (see images)

  • I placed the glass joint seal in the channel of the back metal part of the door (closes to the oven), but it’s completely loose, so no idea of that’s correct
  • Laid the inner most sheet of glass (J00123623) over the top, and secured in the metal slots
  • Laid the middle sheet of glass in the metal slots which hold it approx 6mm above the rear pane.
  • Fitted the front metal part of the door with glass included, and screwed all back together
No idea where the adhesive gasket is meant to go, and whether that loose seal at the back is doing anything

Can’t find any youtube videos on the subject. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks guys

Hey thanks. Those videos are actually really useful. Will have to check them out in future for any other repairs. Unfortunately I can't gleen much from the video.

No-one else have any inkling how the door goes back together?
