 sadly, the good lady wife, caught the edge of the glass in the door of our microwave oven, on the one edge that is unprotected this caused it to shatter just like the glass in a car windscreen. The original manufacturers of the oven are unable to help as the model is now "obsolete". However I have found a glass specialist company who can make me a tempered piece to fit. My question is is the glass anything other than just tempered? The door has a clear inner glass panel, then a fine metal grill then the broken one referred to. Any advice more than welcome. for which many thanks. Cordially chaffeur

I would recommend you buy a new appliance. If you did repair the door it would need the machine testing for microwave leakage. The fine metal grill you mention is the screen to stop the escape of microwaves and it must be accurately located to work safely.
