Rebuilding portion of interior brick wall - advice please

Hello, I've posted a question already about some air bricks and this is a follow on from that.

After knocking off loose plaster and removing the filler and bits of wood etc.. this is what's left of my kitchen wall -
I've marked in red where Im going to put the new bricks.
Q1) have I missed anything or am I doing it wrong ?



I've put a wooden support in under the lintel incase I disturb anything..

If nothings loose just board it over or fill in the holes with mortar and bits of brick. There's nothing needing bashing out or rebuilding.
 
I wouldn't bother toothing out either. You'll probably damage the reveal and end up rebuilding it. The old foremen used to say that ' they aren't worried about a few straight joints, it's the straight backs that bother them'.
