Recognise this radiator fitting?

Hello. We have a secondhand radiator and wonder if anyone recognises the type of fitting we need to connect a 15mm straight TRV to it. The make is Arbonia Karotherm. Thanks

Remove that "tail" and use the one supplied with the TRV

You will need a large allen key to remove the old fitting. Fit the new one also with the allen key using 15 'windings' of ptfe tape on the thread. Using the tail from the new TRV will ensure a good fit.

Thanks both. So you think what's there belongs to the old TRV and not the radiator? The hexagonal nut just spins so there's no real grip to be had. I've googled 'plumbers allen key' and think I know what you mean, but I couldn't find anything on the Toolstation or Screwfix websites which are both open today. Could I trouble you to have a look and send a link if possible? Many thanks.

Yes. Standard size.

Normal has never existed in this house so the 25 mile round trip to Toolstation for a 1.59 spanner inevitably resulted in disappointment - it didn't fit! However, a bit of ingenuity did the job - used a hacksaw to make two grooves across the inner fitting, slid a long rigid piece of metal into the grooves and turned- bingo! Thanks for the help
