Recommend me a small generator please.

I very much appreciate the help members of the site have given me today and would be obliged if you could advise me on a small generator I can use in my garage.

Please highlight pros and cons of 2 & 4 stroke, efficiency and noise. However, price is very important.

4 stroke will cost a lot more, are usually found in more powerful generators, are typically quieter and should be more efficient.
2 stroke are cheap and usually nasty, will be found on small generators only, and are noisy, polluting monstrosities.

As with everything, you generally get what you pay for.
A sub-£100 effort will be the heap of junk you would expect.

Something like this, you could use it to power lighting and also recharge an emergency light which would give you another 3-4 hours of light, noise free.
