Hi, a question about installing these. I have 2 - for 2 showers, I would like to install both in the "system A" configuration:

This would mean splitting the existing 22mm cold supply to my megaflo into 2 separate 15mm - one to each recoup and then to the respective shower and rejoining to enter the cylinder.

My question is:
Will the surplus preheated water from the pipe supplying the shower that is in use refill the cylinder or will it refill from both pipes equally - in which case I'll have to keep the single pipe and install one as system A and the other as system B (preheated water only goes to shower).

Thanks.

Do we get a clue as to what your questions are, or do we just have to guess? Best advice I could give is that they will take an extremely long time to pay for themselves, and are therefore only really of use if you're trying to get your home's SAP rating up a bit. Their own suggestion of 3-4 years payback seems to be based on rather unlikely figures

Sorry, finger trouble - posted before finished typing and had to edit.

I guess the snake oil and payback depends how much you pay for them.

I think if you try to do two as System A you'll end up with unheated water from the shower not in use being drawn into the cylinder at some point, or the preheated water from the shower in use being mixed with unheated water from the shower not in use, reducing the overall effectiveness.

Yes, thats what I figured, unless there's some weird fluid dynamics thing I don't understand - that drawing water to the in use shower would create a path of least resistance onto the cylinder.

Thanks.

Unfortunately the showers are too far apart to combine the wastes or the pipes. According to the figures system A is about 65% efficient v 50% for system B so I suppose I'm probably best just using A for the main bathroom and B for the en-suite.

I might e-mail recoup to see what they think.

It's exactly as muggles suggested above - Recoup have confirmed that only 1 can operate as system A (ideally the main shower) and others must be system B.
