Hi Please can someone help me.I have a ford fiesta The red battery warning light came on and is staying on. The fan belt is OK, when I had a look under the car around the altinator I noticed a small thin wire next to a bigger cable this thin wire has what looks like a conection with what looks like a metal screw, this screw like thing looks like it should be conected to some thing, buts its just hanging loose, the wire is conected to both ends of this screw like thing. Should this be conected to something and if so where should I conect it??.
The red light in the car is not bright like when I turn the ignition it dulls slightly but stays on. Sorry I am in spain in the middle of a very small town in the middle of know where.

sounds like if its hanging loose then thats your problem, there should be a connection on the alternator to attatch it to
