Hi all,

I'm having some doubts about some advice from B&Q this evening.

I need to repaint the walls/ceiling in our bathroom now that we have a new extractor fan and the dehumidifier has dried out the walls.

The chap on the paint desk in B&Q advised to leave the bathroom paint and use vinyl silk with a undercoat of some ronseal damp seal undercoat.
Does this sound like sound advice?

Not sure about using a silk finish on a ceiling?

Appreciate any thoughts before I get cracking.

Steve

It all comes down to personal preference really, I would always go for a Matt finish as above all it looks better vinyl will show up any uneven parts and rough patches a lot more than Matt

The B & Q chappie was probably thinking that Vinyl silk is easier than Matt Emulsion to wipe down condensation after the bathroom has been used.

Its down to personal preference

Acrylic egshell is better / nicer than vinyl silk ;)
