Hi. Looking for a bit of advise please. We are looking to buy a Redfyre central heating cooker. When we spoke to a heating engineer who would be installing it he said that the pressure jet burners are very noisy. Does anyone out there have any views/advice on this. The boiler/cooker in question was manufactured in 2004 is the 80,000 BTU model and has 1 possibly 2 25.4kW pressure jet/s. Oil fired. Many thanks.

Some are very noisy, it depends on the implementation.

We fit Heritage Cookers, and the boiler is a pressure jet and almost silent.

If you have a Rayburn with a pressure jet, you may have formed a different opinion.

Thanks for your reply. So are you saying that the actual pressure jets themselves vary and although they are fitted in a redfyre boiler they are manufactured by different compainies ? If that is the case would you say we need to listen to the actual cooker we intend to purchase(big problem, its sitting on a pallet in a warehouse). In general how loud could they be compared too, kitchen appliances etc ?. We had a gas combi in our last house sited in the kitchen no problem. I know you said you fit Heritage but have you had any dealings with these red beasts ?would really appreciate your opinion.
