Folks, last summer my Grundfos UPS 25 55 180mm was replaced with its newer version, a UPS2 25 80 180 on my s-plan system. The BG engineer said that was the recommended replacement unit but I think it’s over powered. Anyways, I have it set on 1 and PP and system works fine… except that when it whirs on, for the first 5-10 seconds, it’s a bit noisy and the airing cupboard is a level above my living space and the sound comes through. It’s annoying when heating is called about every 20 mins. Are the new smaller 130mm pumps much quieter when starting and should I look to change it out or is there something I can set on my programmer, a Drayton Wiser, so that it overruns a little so that heating is called less often?
