I've a timber coal bunker in the back garden - now used for storage - which is about 60 years old. It was originally coated inside and out with traditional light creosote so is in good nick apat from the lid which has the felt coming off.
I've had a cutting of flooring vinyl from the carpet shop skip (taken with permission) draped over the top to keep the water out but that's falling apart now and it's about time I refelted it.
I have some felt and adhesive. Still need to get some nails with ribbed shank. Galv will be OK I presume.
Will a coat of creocote on the timber prevent adhesion or if still wet will it thin it allowing it to key into the timber?
Perhaps there is a better material for covering than felt? If so please advise.
