Refit combi boiler

Hi All

My boiler is ready to go back into service at its new location after 8 months storage in my garage. I need to know what shall I be looking at to make sure all parts work. I was adviced to make sure the pump is free. Is there anything else.

Thats probably all you need to do.

I have forgotten what model you have. Its just possible the diverter may have jammed but as I presume you will have a CORGI boiler engineer at least doing the gas connection and if there was any problem he should be able to sort that out.

Hi "Agile" Tony.

Boy am I glad you have responded so quick. I was hoping you would. My combi is a vaillant 828E condensing. I am having the boiler re-commissioned but not sure whether this guy will sort faults if any. There shouldn't be any faults I hope.

Prior to removimg the boiler it worked absolutely fine.

Is looking at diverter valve a big job Tony.

SHould take almost a whole coffee to check the diverter, pump and hot water flow device. Would also clean the condensate trap and check inside the flames dept to see if any spiders have taken residence - they can get anywhere. Hope your gas valve hasn't stuck - an outside chance.

Moved /stored boilers often have busted or misplaced plastic bits so they leak, so take it up to 2.5 bar cold then hot and have a good look inside, and especially at the connections.

Hi "ChrisR" Old pals are coming back to help. Its a great feeling believe me. I was very careful in storing my boiler but like you rightly point out spiders could be taking winter break inside my boiler whilst I have been freezing.

I have kept all the bits together in a tesco bag. I hope the bag is there where I put it and not got thrown away. I will kick myself it has. I will keep you posted.
