Reform lead the polls

Those who are NATO members will have a conflict. I see this being a core group of European nations forming an alliance and the EU which includes countries with minimal military capability won’t have much to say about it.

Those countries with minimal military capability will be even more drawn towards the EU.

Much better now to be part of a strong partnership than going it alone.

We've chosen to go it alone, or at least jump as high as USA tells us to.

Don't think for 1 minute that our military would do much against aggression on its own. But combined with others it becomes stronger. Same with economies

Russia would defeat an EU army in less time than it took to destroy Ukraine. I wish it wasn’t so.

I agree it might, but seperately each part is even weaker.

Be vey careful of trump. Nato really doesn't feel very strong right now

Without US or U.K. support - no chance.

Firstly, they’d take years to organise, then years to work out who pays and a decade later it would be all over with half of the expanded EU back to speaking Russian within 2 years.
That's just biased bs.

The uk military is good for its size. But it isn't big enough to make a difference to the rest of europe

You underestimate the Poles and the Finns, to name but two.

We havent even got enough manpower to fill wembley stadium.

And that includes the logisitics people, the paperwork departments, the transport etc.

We are not big and powerful, despite what you want to think. Ask anybody currently serving how long they think we would last against Russia.

Without other armed forces, which is looking more and more like europe, we are next to nothing. The armed forces have been run into the ground, although Starmer is looking to address it, but it's years too late to be effective.

As quickly as that?

The world’s fastest growing major advanced economy last year was most likely Spain. According to preliminary official data for 2024, Spain’s GDP grew by 3.2%, almost five times the eurozone average and more than the US, which did pretty well too. In December, the Economist ranked Spain first among 37 mostly wealthy countries based on five indicators: GDP, stock market performance, core inflation, unemployment and government deficits. Forecasts for 2025 look good.
Why is Spain doing so well? One key reason is immigration....says Maria Ramirez in The Guardian this morning.
