Reform Policies

Champagne socialist then.
Wanting people to be able to live on wages?

Nothing wring with people making money. It's the differences between the haves and the have nots thats the total problem in this country.

That's not champagne socialism, it's ethical capitalism

What you want is not

And immigration isn't the biggest issue holding the country back

I suppose it could be construed as that yes. If they were moderates or fringe, then I'd say less likely. If they were extreme Labourites verging on the far left, then yes, all day.

No, because the SDP merged with the Liberals. Remember, Mrs Thatcher once described herself as a Liberal. That's why we got the weird coalition with the Tories where some of the Orange Book Lib Dems seemed more gung ho about making cuts than the Tories themselves.

So they evolved then.

Not really. They are still a weird alliance of social democrats and liberals (in the traditional British sense)

AI Overview

Yes, individuals who adhere to the principles outlined in "The Orange Book" are still active within the Liberal Democrats (Lib Dems)
. This includes the current party leader, Sir Ed Davey.
The "Orange Bookers" represent a specific ideological wing within the party that generally advocates for economic liberalism and a balance of four main liberal thoughts: social, economic, cultural, and political liberalism. This contrasts with the more traditional social liberal wing of the party.
