Reform will stop the small boats within two weeks ...

I think Nigel will find a way to stop the boats, which will be excellent as it's a visible and frustrating issue.

More concerned about them being able to stop the illegals arriving on flights, the students staying on, the family members arriving here to have a baby.
Spend a few days in a maternity unit in UK and you see exactly the way the country is going..

**** off. :ROFLMAO:

Fromage doesn't have the spine and guts for the long haul.

You can’t arrive here without a valid visa

the students staying on
Yeah those Phd students are a real drain on society.

Do you mean there are non white British citizens having babies and you don’t like it?

I'm pretty sure during his conference speech Farage said to the effect 'we'll stop the boats within the first two weeks.' That was essentially the message.

Now, when challenged on this, he's saying he said or meant to say 'we'll stop the boats within two weeks of getting the relevant legislation changed.'

Doesn't quite have the same ring to it ;)

I've said before, I can already picture Nige at the dispatch box during PMQs having to come up with excuse after excuse, deflections and pivots aplenty.

Hilarious to see Farage getting so tetchy with Beth Rigby

He can dish it out but he can’t take it

Slogans can be a beacon of hope to a hopeless situation that we are faced with under the current shower. Someone with a strong slogan could well be what is needed.
Personally I like to look beyond the slogans.

Remember "Get Brexit Done", and look at the shambles it was, and the result.

But I don't deny how effective the slogan was.

If slogans are all you need, you carry on.

you think it’s a hopeless situation currently….because Nigel told you that
you think the asylum seekers crisis would be sorted out by Reform…..because Nigel told you that

Nigel says your life will be much better if you give me a £1000

It isn’t just a meaningless slogan though. How it pans out will dictate whether or not the slogan was meaningless. If anything a slogan can get a message through simply within a few words rather than pages full of policy.

Let's try it.

Reform says "stop the boats" so it will work ? Why hasn't it worked before ?

Nigel doesn’t need to tell us anything about how Starmer is doing, that speaks for itself.

As a youngster if you work hard you can still buy a house, my nephew is 22 he save hard for 4 years didn't go out drinking etc (much) and hes just bought his first house.

The problem is once you start renting its impossible to save.
At 22? Either he's in a very cheap area, has a fantastic job or got help from the bank of Mum and Dad.

The average first time buyer house is around £300,000. 5% deposit would be £15,000 so saving that is possible assuming half decent job, frugal lifestyle and living with parents for four years. But the banks typically don't like lending more than 5 times salary. So he'd need a £57,000 salary.

If he's up north where starter homes are closer to £100,000 then it's much easier. £5,000 deposit and £20,000 salary needed. That's more like the world of OAPs than the normal experience these days.

For a young person on £25,000 a year you're looking at a max loan of £125,000. Your deposit needs to cover the difference between that and your areas starting price. Saving 5k is relatively easy, saving £175,000 isn't.

Im not making it up, he paid £230,000 and put down 20k, saving 5k per year when you're on about 30k it isnt hard.

Oh I didn't mention hes bought with his girlfriend.
