Hi,

I am having a new limecrete floor laid, and would like to have the original 87 year old red quarry tiles relaid on top. Problem is they are in a poor condition, dirty and with some paint splashes.

Is there anywhere that will refurbish them for me (if thats even possible?) They are all being taken up so no need to come out and do it on site.

After lifting the tile you could lightly scrub them with soapy warm water and use a spatula to lift any paint splashes. Then leave them to soak and repeat if necessary.
Soaking might degrade any clinging sand and lime mortar.

If the quarries have been overpainted, say in red, then its paint remover time, or a hot air gun and a spatula.
