regs for local isolation

I've been handed a job by my boss which is to inspect a workshop type container.

The workshop has 3 16A type 110v industrial sockets. The problem is that the manufacturer has not provided a means of isolation other than the MCB which I wouldn't class as being at all local to the outlets.

Can someone point me to the correct regulation for local isolation.

There is no specific requirement to have local isolation for socket outlets. Unless of course there is a specific reason for you to require them?

A fixed machine should have a local isolator.
Local isolation is performed by removing the plug from the socket.
If this is a workshop container, I would like an emergency stop isolator but it is not at all mandatory.

Reg 537. Table 53.2 is a good guide.

Also, when referring to isolation there is no requirement for it to be Local. See reg 537.2.1.5
 
As already stated Table 53.2 shows the plug and socket is the isolator. Having worked with containers in the past the biggest problem I have found is people do forget it is split phase rather then phase a neutral and often fail to use linked double breakers and also sometimes rely on the incoming breaker to the transformer and fail to allow for an earth fault on a single leg.
For example feeding the transformer from 10 amp MCB will allow 41.8 amps on one leg which will melt 1.5mm flex very easy. For some reason people seem to think 21 amp between two sockets is OK and forget it is split phase.
