I have a cheap stainless steel sink and draining board. Last time I used metal this thin I was wrapping a turkey. :(

I don't want to spend proper money on a heavy gauge sink. Can I stiffen it with fibreglass or similar?

I'd imagine the draining board part of it will be the most obvious bit to "bounce" - you could try sticking some battens to the underside with epoxy resin. The other part that will be noticable will be the tap area - the only way that springs to mind, other than getting or making larger backplates, is to use rigid tap tails (instead of flexis) secured to the wall or the cupboard.
