Hello there,

We have had to take up the parquet flooring in our hallway to accomodate some emergency plumbing work. It is a square basket pattern and was originally laid in tiles of 2x2 "squares" and fixed with bitumen. When we removed it, a lot of the tiles broke up but the individual blocks are still in good condition. What is the best way to re-lay it? Can we reform the tiles on some kind of backing material or do we have to lay each block individually? And any recommendations for adhesives?

Any thoughts appreciated!

Clean off as much of the bitumen from the 'fingers' as possible and re-lay them, using modern parquet adhesive, finger by finger in the same pattern as the rest.
Could be a nice weekend job?
