Reliable firewall and site blocker

Using a user account will make it less likely that a bad program will get installed and attempt to bypass the windows firewall.

I having been hearing good things about MS Security Essentials but not sure I would trust it just yet. It’s new and made by Microsoft.

Have a look at http://www.opendns.com/solutions/overview/. It does Content Filtering.

For a Browser Switch to Firefox more customisable and safer than Explorer it will warn you if a site is deemed risky, as for a paid anti virus I have used this 4 years now. http://www.eset.co.uk/?gclid=CK6K9Jfs_p8CFVpb4wodX21qjw

Originally nod32 bit pricey but excellent my kids are a bit older 11 and 17 so you can guess what their looking at and I give them full rain no restrictions and no nasties picked up although they have tried hard bless them.

You must also look at your router firewall and wi fi if you use it , most routers enable you to block certain sites and restrict access to times sites etc
