I want to move a smallish privet bush from one part of the garden to another. It is about 3foot high and diameter. the type with the little yellow leaves. How much of the root system do I have to dig round to ensure it will survive the move? It is in the same garden so don't think there will be a problem with soil type.
thanks

Hello,

the best bet is to keep all the roots, but if you cant the next best way is to cut some of the branches off so that the remaining ones have a better chance of surviving the process, also water, water, water.

Hope this helps,

Joseph
